Greenfort
The Greenfort garden year really starts in February, with acres of Snowdrops, followed in March and April by Daffodils, Jonquils and Narcissi. May and June are arguably the best months with most colour and variety - acres of Bluebells, many Rhododendrons, Azaleas, Camellias and early Roses.
July brings the great Rambling Roses and ‘Polar Bear’ the last of the Rhododendrons to flower. Myrtles, Buddleja, Eucryphia and Sweet Peas appear in August. As autumn starts Plums and Apples ripen, and a riot of colour begins, led by Persian Ironwood and Boston Ivy.
The garden and house have existed for several centuries. There are beautiful walks through mature woodland and the New Forest, planted in 2003, with outstanding views over Lough Swilly and Inshowen.
